Bring your own picnic lunch.
Kapiti Stables is situated very near the entrance gates in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park. The big black stable building is on your right. We provide a unique trekking experience and opportunity to build a relationship with horses. Our Clydesdales, gentle ponys and large Gisborne Breed horses provide the opportunity for inexperienced and confident riders to trek through rolling hills, natural waterways and regenerated wetlands down to the beach or up to Whareroa Farm.
Kapiti Stables believe in building a positive and close relationship between the rider and the horse and therefore will be offering two different equine experiences.
Level One is tailored towards beginner and intermediate riders. We deem a beginner rider as someone who has never been on a horse. An intermediate rider is someone who has ridden a horse a few times but cannot confidently and independently control an unknown horse in an unknown environment.
Each rider will interact with a horse personally, learning about horse management, grooming, and horse and rider activities to build a close and harmonious relationship with the horse before embarking on a trek. Level One will also include a trek through the farmland and Queen Elizabeth Parks countryside.
