Fairy Door
If you have fairies at the bottom of the garden, it's a good idea to place a door in some suitable location for them to come through. That way you can keep an eye on the little scamps...and the kids can enjoy seeking them out! Made with treated timber for exterior.

Toy Train
The engine has working wheels, and plenty of room to show off ornaments or take teddy and dolly for a ride. Sturdy wooden construction means it will last for ages, or even to delight your grandchildren!

We took some to a local market, and almost immediately they were a big hit. Imagine your little train nut's delight on receiving one of these!

Dimensions: 410mm long x 120mm wide x 150mm high (approx.)

DENIS WOOD
The Shed Project was formed in 2014 with a vision to create an inclusive society, irrespective of abilities where all people are valued as contributing members of their community. The Project provides work experience, skills training, creative art, woodworking skills, kapa haka and percussion programs, fitness, social and recreational events.

Guiding this vision is the work and passion of Denis Wood. He describes his journey as starting with fostering a child with very special, high needs, many years ago.

It’s important to Denis that the project is self-sustaining, to this end there is a local Op Shop and goods are sold on Trade Me. The large, impressive shop space is attached to the workshop, filled with all types of household and garden goods. Art work and items created by Project members are also on sale.

Denis has been involved with wood work/carpentry for over 30 years. He has been a Project Manager in the UK for big commercial building projects and has frequently had to fill in for those at work, under taking all manner of maintenance, from fixing a shower to electrical repairs. He has completed multiple carpentry courses along the way. After moving to NZ, he worked for a local Property Maintenance business for many years.

In NZ he has worked with the disenfranchised, often in connection to WINZ, teaching, training and providing work experience in building houses.

This work has progressed forward to developing the Shed Project, where Denis continues to win awards for services to the people he mentors at the Shed Project.

Although Denis has aspired to hold community courses, the Kapiti Summer School is the first paid adult teaching role he has agreed to - and now he is really looking forward to working with eager and willing adult participants.

Sign up for a course with Denis, you’ll take home more than a piece of garden art.
